MEXICAN state oil company Pemex has come up short on a deep-water wildcat, finding only non-commercial hydrocarbons at its Alaminos-1 well in the Perdido foldbelt.
The well was Pemex’s second crack at a Gulf of Mexico target that would have fallen within the jurisdiction of a trans-boundary hydrocarbons treaty with the US, only 2.6 kilometres south of the maritime border.
