GLOBAL supermajors have provided a positive early response to Pemex’s confirmation last week that it would advance its first-ever farm-out covering the Trion field in the deep waters of the Perdido foldbelt in the Gulf of Mexico.
The proposal — approved by the board of the state-led Mexican oil company last Friday — comes after nearly two years of waiting for Pemex to exercise its post-reform freedom to join forces with private players to explore for and develop Mexico’s hydrocarbons.
