A series of incidents involving drone attacks against oil and gas facilities in Saudi Arabia and sabotage against vessels, including oil tankers, ratcheted up tension in the Persian Gulf this week, especially between Iran and the US.
Saudi Arabia said two of its oil pumping stations were hit by armed drones on 14 May, just two days after four ships, including two Saudi oil tankers, were sabotaged off the coast of the United Arab Emirates.
