Pertamina's acquisition of BP's 46% interest in ONWJ was expected to be finalised by 30 June. BP had earlier said that it hoped to complete the divestment by the end of the year.

The new operator's production will be increased by more than 11,000 barrels per day of oil and 100 million cubic feet per day of gas net from this mature asset.

Pertamina's president director Karen Agustiawan said the company had been eying the block since she was its director of upstream operations.
