Indonesia’s national oil and gas company Pertamina has sets its sights on the producing Rokan block, where existing operator Chevron has already applied for an extension, writes Amanda Battersby.
The Rokan production sharing contract onshore Sumatra, which is Indonesia’s largest crude producer, is due to expire in 2021.
Chevron currently has 100% equity in the block that produced an average 122,000 barrels per day of oil and 21 million cubic feet per day of gas last year.
