Indonesian state oil company Pertamina has started talks with Total and Inpex about how it will take over operatorship of the Offshore Mahakam production sharing contract from 1 January 2018.
Energy & Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said reported that Pertamina met France’s Total — the current operator — and Japan’s Inpex to discuss details of the transition period covering the block off East Kalimantan, which supplies most of the feedstock gas for the Bontang liquefied natural gas project.
