Petrel recently took on Iraqi outfit Makman as a partner on the project.
"Our focus is now two-fold on design definition as part of our front-end engineering design programme for (Oil Ministry) review and acceptance in the third quarter of 2006 and, secondly, in securing equipment and delivery conditions for the long-lead items and pipeline material," according to the company.
Subba&Luhais is to be upgraded to produce up to 200,000 barrels per day from the present 50,000 bpd.
