Brazilian oil giant Petrobras and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) have strengthened their ties in the South American country, with the Chinese company taking stakes in a quartet of fields in the Marlim cluster in the Campos basin.
As part of the strategic alliance agreement signed between the two companies, CNPC’s subsidiary China National Oil & Gas Exploration & Development Corporation (CNODC) will acquire a 20% working interest in the Marlim, Voador, Marlim Sul and Marlim Leste fields.
