The raw water injection system was designed by Norway's Framo Engineering, and FMC Technologies supplied subsea equipment.
Seawater will be collected about 100 metres above the seabed and will be further filtered and injected into the reservoir using three pumping and filter systems connected to a total of eight wells. Output on Albacora currently stands at 120,000 barrels per day but reserves estimates were boosted by a seismic undershoot and confirmation well.
