Petrobras has awarded McDermott of the US an engineering, procurement, construction and installation contract for a rigid riser-based system for the Sepia pre-salt field off Brazil, writes Fabio Palmigiani.
McDermott edged out competition by submitting late last year the lowest bid of 1.09 billion reais ($274.5 million) in the tender.
The project workscope includes detailed engineering, surveys, supply, installation and pre-commissioning of rigid pipelines, jumpers, buoyance modules, strakes and riser monitoring systems.
