Drilling of the Iara West-2 appraisal well took place in water depths of 2197 metres with the Schahin semi-submersible rig Amazonia. The test confirmed the existence of carbonate reservoirs starting at a depth of 5260 metres.
Petrobras operates BM-S-11 with a 65% stake and is partnered by BG Group of the UK with 25% and Portuguese oil company Galp Energia with 10%.
