Petrobras celebrating first oil at Cascade field

Production began on 25 February from the Cascade-4 well, which is a subsea tie-back to the BW Pioneer FPSO.

No flow rates were disclosed, but Petrobras has previously said the wells at Cascade and another field, Chinook, were capable of producing anywhere from 3000 to 10,000 or more barrels per day of oil. First oil was initially expected in 2010 and had been repeatedly pushed back due to various commissioning issues, both subsea and aboard the vessel.
