Petrobras and project partner Repsol Sinopec were looking to drill the Lebre exploration well in the deep waters of Block BM-S-51 in the fourth quarter of 2014, possibly targeting the same trend as the nearby Sagitario discovery made in Block BM-S-50.
The pressure conditions observed at the Lebre prospect were higher than average for the Santos basin, and Petrobras was trying to identify the best rig in its fleet to move to BM-S-51 later this year to carry out the programme.
