Brazil’s National Petroleum Agency (ANP) was forced to restart the Libra well after hitting mechanical problems in the salt section, almost two months into the operation.
The drillbit became irretrievably stuck as the well was working on a section of 13 and 3/8-inch casing, as a result of which the rig was moved to a location 3.8 kilometres east of the original.
