US contractor McDermott has confirmed the award of a contract from Brazil's Petrobras for the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of the third and final phase of a key offshore gas pipeline.
The contract, valued between $50 million and $250 million, will cover the near-shore section of the Route 3 trunkline, which will carry associated gas from the Lula and Buzios pre-salt fields to a processing facility that is currently under construction at Marica, north-east of Rio de Janeiro.
