Brazil’s Petrobras has disqualified all bidders in a tender for chartering up to two moored rigs mainly on grounds of price and, in at least one case, technical qualifications, writes Gareth Chetwynd.

The state-controlled oil company was seeking to charter two anchor-moored rigs capable of operating in water depths of 700 metres and had budgeted for rates of less than $120,000 per day when the tender was launched in April.
