Sagitario was drilled in Block BM-S-50 in 1871 metres of water with the cylindrical semi-­submersible rig Sevan Brasil.

The well reached a total depth of 7110 metres. Starting at a depth of 6144 metres, Petrobras detected 159 metres of pre-salt reservoirs bearing good quality oil at 32 degrees API.
