Malaysia’s national oil and gas company Petronas will continue to seek legal clarity on the Sarawak state government’s assertion that it has control over the state’s upstream operations and will implement regulatory policies to that effect from 1 July, writes Amanda Battersby.
Malaysia’s Federal Court on 22 June denied leave to Petronas to launch a legal challenge against the Sarawak state government’s claimed right to regulate its own upstream oil and gas activities.
