Petronas of Malaysia and Argentine oil company Pan American Energy have become the latest operators to gain approvals from Mexican regulators for exploration plans on acreage they won in recent licensing rounds.
Petronas has been given the green light from the National Hydrocarbons Commission (CNH) for its plan for Area 12, which it won in Round 2.4. The acreage is located off the coast of Veracruz in the Mexican Ridges geologic province, in water depths ranging between 1300 and 1400 metres.
