Petronas Carigali delivered with the Wakid-1 exploration well on its Block 2G-2J production sharing contract, about 100 kilometres north-west of the state capital Kota Kinabalu.
Preliminary estimates of the hydrocarbons in place at Wakid are 227 million barrels of oil equivalent with expected upside potential.
Three production tests were performed on the Wakid-1 wildcat and these flowed oil at a combined maximum of 8200 barrels per day.
