Malaysian state oil company Petronas has launched a new licensing round on behalf of the government, offering nine exploration blocks and targeting awards before the end of the year.
The round, which is offered by Petronas in its role as Malaysian regulator, offers two blocks off Peninsular Malaysia, another four offshore and onshore Sarawak and three more off Sabah.
The acreage on offer off Peninsular Malaysia includes Block PM415, which covers 3932 square kilometres in water depths between 60 and 75 metres in the South Malay basin.
