Hassan Marican is being considered to return to Malaysia’s national oil and gas company Petronas as its chairman to succeed Mohd Sidek Hassan, who is expected to soon tender his resignation.
Hassan Marican, who was at Petronas’ helm until early 2010, is today chairman of Singaporean offshore contractor Sembcorp Marine and the Lion City’s Pavilion Energy.
Market sources suggested that Petronas could be seeing more boardroom changes following Malaysia’s recent general election.
