Malaysia’s Petronas is gearing up for MotoGP World Championship by signing a new three-year deal with MotoGP promoters Dorna Sports.

The deal will see the company associated with the Thai and Malaysian events until the end of the 2020 racing season, extending its involvement in the sport which stretches back to the early 2000s.

Its first event under the new agreement will be this weekend’s MotoGP event on the Buriram International Circuit, the first time the MotoGP has been hosted on the track, which was designed by German architect Hermann Tilke and opened in 2014.
