Malaysia’s national upstream company Petronas Carigali will soon spud the deep-water Tawakal-1 exploration well off Sabah, East Malaysia.
Petronas is using Seadrill’s drillship West Carina for the wildcat, which is expected to be completed in the third week of May.
The operator recently finished the Tampan-1 probe also off Sabah, the first of a two-well campaign with West Carina.
The drillship is scheduled to go off hire after the Tawakal well.
