Petronas has taken on Shell’s 50% equity in the 9.1 million tonnes per annum MLNG Dua plant, which was officially handed over at a closed ceremony at Petronas Carigali’s Sarawak operations office at Miri. Shell operated MLNG Dua via a 1993 production sharing contract with Petronas that expired on 20 August.
“Petronas is committed to ensure that there will be no interruption to the supply and demand of gas and achieve stability in the operations of MLNG Dua,” said Petronas senior vice president Mohd Anuar Taib.
