Malaysia’s national upstream company Petronas has plans for a third development phase at its producing Bukit Tua (Old Hill) field off Indonesia — a project that will tempt work-starved regional yards with a new platform construction contract.
“We are finalising (plans) for phase three. It will be an oil and gas development,” said Petronas Indonesia general manager Zaini Nor-Yussof.
Bukit Tua phase 3A on the Ketapang production sharing contract will involve three wells to produce hydrocarbons from the Kujung play, likely to be exploited via existing facilities with July 2019 touted for start-up.
