OMV has agreed to acquire Petronas’ oil and gas exploration and production interests in Pakistan, including the Mubarak, Mehar and Daphro exploration licences and the Mehar and Mubarak development and production leases. The deal is expected to boost output there for OMV — already the largest foreign gas producer in Pakistan — to about 25,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by 2014 up from the current approximate 14,000 boepd.
