The iconic Petronas Twin Towers in Malaysia’s capital Kuala Lumpur has lost its title as the nation’s tallest building.

The 452-metre-high building, which hosts the headquarters of national oil and gas company Petronas, has been pipped by the nearby 492-metre-tall Exchange 106 building, which last week received its certificate of completion and compliance.

Petronas’ Twin Towers might have lost its national crown but the building’s owner, KLCC Holdings, has already unveiled plans for the 700-metre Tower M in Kuala Lumpur, although construction is not slated to start until after 2030.
