Petronas is drilling ahead at a highly anticipated wildcat in the deep waters of the Salina del Istmo basin off Mexico, writes Kathrine Schmidt.
The Malaysian player confirmed to Upstream that the Yaxchilan Este-1EXP well began drilling operations on 21 June.
"The Yaxchilan Este-1 located in Block 4 of deep-water Salina Basin, offshore Mexico is at a water depth of 1085 metres and the drilling campaign will take approximately 90 days," a spokesperson said.
