Pioneer Natural Resources has signed a deal with US Silica to take a stake in its sand mine in Lamesa, Texas, locking up supplies of the shale play commodity for a 15-year period.
The US independent said it expects to start taking in sand volumes in the first quarter of 2019 with a supply of about 1.4 million tonnes per annum.
