Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell has successfully removed the 24,500-tonne topsides of its Brent Delta platform in a record-breaking single lift using Allseas’ massive twin-hulled Pioneering Spirit vessel.
The giant topsides has already been transferred by barge and moved up the River Tees, where in the next week it will be skidded onto a purpose-built quayside at Able UK’s Seaton yard in Hartlepool, England, for dismantling.
