Allseas’ gargantuan platform removal and installation vessel Pioneering Spirit performed flawlessly on its record-setting maiden contract, according to company founder and president Edward Heerema.
The deck of Repsol’s Yme platform, weighing 13,500 tonnes, was successfully lifted off its steel legs in the North Sea on 22 August, simultaneously lifting a huge weight off Heerema’s shoulders.
