The 12-billion cubic metres capacity pipeline is operated by the Southeast Asia Pipeline Company and will deliver gas from fields including Daewoo International’s Shwe in the Bay of Bengal to Yunan province in China.
Twenty per cent of the estimated 500 million cubic feet daily output from phase one of the Shwe field development will be used domestically in Burma, with 400 MMcfd flowing into neighbour China.
