The US Department of Energy has approved Venture Global's proposed Plaquemines liquefied natural gas terminal in Louisiana to export cargoes to countries with which the US does not have a free trade agreement.
The department authorised Venture Global to export up to 3.4 billion cubic feet per day from the project, pushing it closer to a final investment decision that is expected by the end of the year.
