STANDALONE US Gulf of Mexico field developments remain largely in limbo amid low oil prices, but opportunities from tiebacks and promising new discoveries remain in the frame.
One notable exception may still emerge — global contractors are scrambling to form new partnerships and put together fresh bids ahead of a June tender invitation for a second round of bidding for BP’s Mad Dog 2 project, a production semi-submersible with capacity for up to 140,000 barrels per day.
