Mexico saw dozens of hungry domestic and international companies face off this week to claim all 25 blocks in a fiercely competitive onshore round, the country’s first since reforms to open its hydrocarbons sector.
The mature fields tender, targeted at planting the seeds for a homegrown Mexican oil industry, saw a flood of longtime service providers to Pemex jump at the chance to become operators on their own projects.
