The death count is mounting in Papua New Guinea's Highlands area following a major earthquake that has caused damage at field locations and led to the shutdown of the PNG liquefied natural gas project, writes Russell Searancke.
The magnitude 7.5 earthquake struck the Highlands early on 26 February, and numerous civilian deaths have been reported by local media.
The two LNG trains at the PNG LNG plant near Port Moresby were shut down, although they are undamaged.
