The state-owned upstream player is understood to have requested a further six months from the Department of Energy to enable it to carry out more work on Mangosteen, which has estimated recoverable resource potential of 71 billion cubic feet.
PNOC-EC earlier this year carried out drillstem testing on two zones of the Mangosteen-1 wildcat on SC 37 in the Cagayan basin.
