The speakers of parliament from Poland and the three Baltic states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia have signed a joint letter to other parliaments in Europe criticising the Gazprom-led Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project from Russia to Germany, writes Vladimir Afanasiev.

"Although Nord Stream 2 is formally presented as a commercial project, it is indeed an instrument of Russian state policy," said a letter signed by Marek Kuchcinski of Poland, Viktoras Pranckietis of Lithuania and Inara Murniece of Latvia following a meeting last weekend in Vilnius.
