Sources said talks have been held with a number of interested parties, including Malaysian industrial group UMW, Mexican state-owned oil company Pemex and several contractors in the Middle East.
The two rigs are being built at CMHI Yiulian’s yard in Shenzhen, southern China, with the first unit scheduled for delivery in the second quarter of next year.
PolyNor is said to be optimistic about prospects for selling the first rig at a decent price, given that market demand for jack-up rigs is gaining momentum as a growing number of units are deemed ready for replacement.
