The UK’s first carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) project moved a step closer to fruition this week after industry players signed a partnership deal identifying a potential development site, while the government took aim at getting a maiden scheme operational by the middle of the next decade, writes Eoin O'Cinneide.
A government action plan unveiled at an industry summit in Edinburgh, Scotland mid-week also called for the rollout of CCUS on a larger scale in the UK in the 2030s.
