Norway's Equinor (formerly Statoil) may cut carbon dioxide emissions by hundreds of thousands of tonnes through modifications and power-from-shore projects at its Sleipner and Troll C platforms and by installing floating wind turbines in the Utsira High area of the North Sea.
Upstream understands that Equinor is in the final stages of a technical feasibility study to replace at least one of the gas turbines on Sleipner by installing a power cable from the Johan Sverdrup field, which is due on stream next year.
