SembCorp Marine subsidiary PPL will start building the Baker Marine Pacific Class 375 rig before the end of next month.
Delivery of the jack-up rig is scheduled for December 2009.
The jack-up will be equipped to drill high-pressure and high-temperature wells to a depth of 30,000 feet in water depths of up to 375 feet and will be able to accommodate 120 persons.
