GPS will be “moving out of the lease business” starting with the sale of a pair of mobile offshore production units before the end of the year, Prescott said.
The mobile offshore production unit operator is understood to be considering its options on GPS Producer 1 and Cendor MOPU, which are currently laid up or about to come off charter.
GPS also faced regulatory pressure to recruit local partners in countries which are seeing a surge in resource nationalisation, according to Prescott.
