South Azadegan and several other oilfields in the West Karun region being developed on a priority basis will contribute 500,000 barrels per day to Iran's crude production capacity by early summer, according to officials.
Fields in the region, where most reservoirs are shared with neighbouring Iraq, are given priority and are targeted to produce about 1.2 million bpd by the next decade.
