Ali Al-Hammadi, who is manager for commercial and shipping for one of the country's two producers, Qatargas, and also a key official on the joint ship-acquisition team, said the partners want to make the next tenders more competitive and involve more shipowners and operators.
"We are trying to pre-qualify more," he said.
He outlined four huge tenders that will be put out during the course of the coming 12 to 18 months.
