OIL production from US shale plays showed a further downturn during August as rig counts give back their gains from earlier this summer, leading the US government to lower its estimate for US oil flows in the coming year.
The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimated that total production fell by 140,000 barrels per day of oil between July and August.
