A well drilled in November 2015 confirmed the connection of Jagus East with the Gumusut-Kakap reservoirs in Malaysia.
The neighbouring countries have a heads of agreement, based on a provisional production and cost sharing model, that will pave the way for unitisation of the Gumusut-Kakap and Jagus East fields plus Shell’s Geronggong structure off Brunei.
Geronggong, which is the deepest and most remote discovery made to date in Brunei waters, could be exploited as a tie-back to the Gumusut-Kakap facilities post-unitisation.
