Shell has filed an exploration plan for a new prospect in the Mississippi Canyon area of the deep-water US Gulf of Mexico, in close proximity to other finds targeting the Norphlet play, US records show.
The Anglo-Dutch supermajor has filed the EP for blocks MC 522 and 523 for a prospect called Daylight South, about six miles (9.6 kilometres) north-east of its Dover discovery.
