BP's plans to drill on its Vorlich oilfield in the UK North Sea were thwarted this week after continued protests by Greenpeace activists forced a Transocean-owned rig into a number of about-turns, writes Anamaria Deduleasa.

The protest, now in its second week, has forced the semi-submersible Paul B Loyd Jr into numerous deviations, after two rigid hull inflatable boats were deployed from the Greenpeace-owned vessel Arctic Sunrise, with activists on board holding banners reading ‘Climate Emergency’.
